Munich, October 6, 2009. They have never appeared together
at the same event in Germany:
the visionaries of Enterprise
2.0. The keynotes of Don Tapscott, management guru and author of the book
"Wikinomics", of Soumitra Dutta, Insead Professor and consultant to
the World Economic Forum, and of Jesse James Garrett, American star designer of
the digital age and the man who coined the term "Ajax", will not only
be exciting; the protagonists' theories will also be the topic of hot
discussion.
"Internet-based
collaboration between companies is changing the entire global economy." In
his keynote presentation titled "How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything,"
Don Tapscott explains how comprehensive Internet-based collaboration will
change companies' rules, processes, organizations and business models. He also
talks about his new book, "Rebuilding the World". In it, he explains
how the world's major corporations and organizations can adapt to these drastic
changes and how they can deal with major challenges, which are triggering
phenomena such as the global economic crisis, terrorism, climate change, the
aging population and issues such as the energy supply. The 62-year-old Canadian
is considered one of the most important visionaries and pioneers of the digital
economy. The Management Professor at the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management
in Toronto is
founder and CEO of the consulting firm New Paradigm and Chairman of the
"nGenera" Think Tank, which he also founded. "It is
about creating systems that work the way people work. Otherwise, they won't be
used." This sentence by Jesse James Garrett could serve as a slogan for his
entire body of work. In his keynote titled "Customer Experience as a Business
Enabler of the Future," he will talk about the "ultimate user
experience IT companies should create for their customers." Garrett knows what he is talking about: He coined the
term "Ajax",
which describes the rapid exchange of data between Internet browsers and servers.
As a result, Garrett is one of the fathers of the "smart" browser, something
most people now take for granted. For this reason, he was awarded the renowned
Rave Award for Technology from Wired Magazine. "Today is a time for change - radical change.
Innovation is the only way forward for survival and growth - especially for
large market leading firms. But how do you make a mammoth run like a
gazelle?" Soumitra Dutta, Professor at the European Business School Insead and
consultant to the World Economic Forum, will answer this question citing several
examples of corporations that have undergone
radical change. "I will discuss how powerful trends such as globalization
and virtualization are reshaping the social, economic and political landscape,"
promises Dutta. The central
theme of the discuss & discover Conference, which is the most important IT
congress of the year, is "Collaboration at Work". With more than 100
CEOs and CIOs from IT user companies, IT manufacturers and several experts of
world renown, the conference features a wealth of information for IT
decision-makers that remains unrivaled to date. Leading representatives of the
IT community will discuss the latest hot topics at the highest level in
compact, practice-oriented sessions: What will the IT infrastructure of the
future look like? How will IT departments and computer centers be set up in the
future given developments such as cloud computing and
virtualization? What safety requirements will have to be taken into
consideration? How can we meet the need for added transparency and increased
collaboration? In additional to international masterminds, the conference will
allow leading speakers from companies such as Amazon, Cisco, Dell, Deutsche Telekom, Gartner, Google, Kaspersky,
Microsoft, Nokia and Vodafone to explain how the next generation of information
technology will be acquired and how it will influence our private and working
lives.
