AsiaCRYPT2009 - If you're going to this December 6-10, 2009 event, your tickets are probably squared away, but for any Con-Techie followers in Japan or Asia who can make the hop at a moment's notice, let's give it a mention: AsiaCRYPT is a Tokyo-based cryptology and information security event, with fees running from the $300.00 range for students to the middle $600.00s for the general crypto-geek public. This is one those not-to-be-missed-if-you're-into-number things. Also, I have no idea what a rump session is, but it sounds dirty, and if I was anywhere near Japan, I'd be there with jingle bells on. FUDCon - The Fedora Users and Developer's Conference hits Toronto this December 5-7 at the Seneca College Campus. FUDCon is a robust event that's absolutely free for everyone to attend, with two tracks (one for new users, and another for those looking to contribute to the Fedora project), numerous hackfests, and - I love this - outdoor ice skating. Penguins indeed. 26C3 - If you've been around the conference scene, or indeed, if you own a computer and have spent any time in Germany, you've probably heard of the Chaos Computer Club's surreal December shindigs. Now in their 26th year, the 26C3 crew is ready to take you off the Berlin map this December 27-30. Join "a diverse audience of thousands of hackers, scientists, artists, and utopians from all around the world" for four days of . Tickets are very affordable, with free passes available for press, children under 12 and the handicapped. Student tickets are 35 Euros, 80 Euros for a standard pass, and 250 Euros for a corporate ticket. NetCom - Jumping past Christmas again, we've got the First International Conference on Networks & Communications in in Chennai, India. NetCom will run December 27-29, and will feature the first workshop on Graph Theory as it applies to wireless ad-hoc and sensor networks (GRAPH-HOC), among other gratuitously abbreviated sub-events. Have a lovely month, and join us again in a couple of weeks for updates on January's happenings.
